PEACE CORPS - MOROCCO- MEDICAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION : Medical Contractor

DUTY STATION : Rabat

DATE OF ENTRY ON DUTY : May 2010

SALARY LEVEL : Salary starting from 275,814 MAD gross/255,345 MAD net, includes, CIMR, CNSS, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, Work Accident and Life Insurance. Moroccan taxes are the responsibility of the employee.

The Peace Corps is seeking a Medical Contractor (PCMC) to provide health care to American Peace Corps Volunteers serving in Morocco.

DUTIES INCLUDE :

- The provision of health education sessions and continuing health education to Peace Corps Volunteers
- Basic psychological counseling and emotional support
- Extensive in-country travel to assist in the identification of living sites and work assignments for Volunteers
- Diagnosis, treatment and management of common illnesses and injuries with emphasis on prevention
- Triage and appropriate referral to physicians in the community for Volunteers with health problems beyond the

scope of the PCMC

- Management and administration of the Volunteer Health Care Delivery System in Morocco.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING :

- Degree from an accredited school of medicine (must have access to curriculum and transcripts) and proof of licensure to practice medicine in Morocco
- A current, active, valid license to practice at the level of her/his education and credentials
- Three years recent, relevant primary care experience
- Ability to do medical consultations and manage a medical emergency situation over the phone
- Fluency in written and oral English and French
- Knowledge of GOM medical structure, knowledge of Moroccan medical system
- Strong interpersonal, communication and cross cultural skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Basic computer skills including word processing, internet, and e-mail
- Ability and availability to travel extensively in Morocco (35%) and on occasion internationally.

OTHER PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS :

- Counseling ability and experience
- Experience in training ;
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team ;
- Moroccan Arabic, Local Berber dialects.
