POSITION :Medical Assistant

DUTY STATION : Rabat, Morocco

DATE OF ENTRY ON DUTY : May, 2010 SALARY LEVEL : Salary starting from 126, 427 MAD gross/ 115,257 MAD net, includes, CIMR, CNSS, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, Work Accident and Life Insurance. Moroccan taxes are the responsibility of the employee.

The United States Peace Corps is seeking a Medical Secretary. The incumbent will serve as Medical Assistant to the Medical Officers. Perform administrative and health-related duties in support of general medical office activities. Must be able to work with others in a team environment. The incumbent must be flexible, pleasant, and can cope with stressful and emergency situations.

Qualifications :

- Medical background - nursing degree required
- Three to five years of related work experience required.
- Strong Language ability : Written and Spoken English, French and Arabic required.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, managerial and interpersonal skills required.
- Principles and practices of business letter writing, translations of documents and inventory and procurement procedures.
- Basic knowledge of medications, vaccinations, and preventive health care practices.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel

Job Responsibilities include to :

- Administer vaccinations, draw blood and perform simple laboratory tests
- Accompany patients to medical appointments and provide language interpretation.
- Translate medical reports and laboratory results from French to English or vice-versa.
- Plan, organize and schedule activities in the Medical Office.
- Assist with health-related procedures and emergency medical evacuations under supervision and following protocols.
- Compile and maintain database inventory of supplies and medications.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing ; compose general correspondence in English or French.
- Operate and use modern office equipment including personal computer, fax machine and photocopy machine.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work i.e. other Medical establishments and physicians and negotiate bill payment.
- Preserve confidentiality of sensitive material routinely encountered as part of work assignments.
- Ability and availability to travel extensively in Morocco (35%) and on occasion internationally.
- Maintain a data base inventory of health unit medications and supplies
- Must be friendly and outgoing and willing to work on a cross cultural team For consideration, please submit the following documents to Peace Corps by May 07, 2010 :
